Dicewars
Have you ever wanted to become the ruler of the world and capture our entire planet? Today in the Dicewars game you will have such an opportunity. Dice Wars is a unique new turn-based strategy game from Taro Ito of GameDesign in Japan. Using nothing but dice and a randomly generated territory map made of hexagons, the game is similar in gameplay to the board game, Risk, although much simpler and faster to play. The goal is to conquer all territories and eliminate all your opponents by attacking them with dice.

The single player game can be played with a maximum of seven (7) computer opponents, which can be selected in the main game menu. Simply pick a number and let the game begin. You always play as purple. With each roll, you can attack any opponent's territory from one of your adjacent territories as long as more than one of your territories dies on it; and you can invade as much territory as you want. Your turn ends when you click the "End Turn" button.

Dice illustration: The rules of combat between two adjacent territories are simple: all dice in the attacking territory are rolled, and the total number of pips is added and compared to the total of all dice rolled in the defending territory. If the attacker's total is greater than the defender's, all attacking dice (minus one) are moved to the defender's territory to capture it, and the defender's dice for that territory are removed. If the defender's total is greater than or equal to the attacker's attack total, all but one die is lost for that territory.

Dice are not allowed to move between territories except for attacks as noted above. At the end of each step, the highest number of adjacent territories you have is calculated and you will receive a bonus of that number of dice. They are then automatically and randomly placed on all of your territories, up to a maximum of eight (8) dice per territory.Analysis: As usual, Ito-san delivers a compelling casual gaming experience that feels both familiar and unique. It's incredibly easy to collect and play, and hard to master. The game relies heavily on the luck of the dice (obviously), which may turn some people off, yet there are certain strategies that pop up as you play to help counter those seemingly random odds. or two to get used to. And when you finally defeat all 7 computer opponents, just press the "History" button and watch the entire game in replay moments.
