globe
Every day there is a new mysterious land. Your goal is to guess which country it is using the least number of guesses. Each incorrect guess will appear on the globe in a color indicating how close it is to the mystery land. The warmer the color, the closer you are to the answer.

1. How is the distance between the answer and my guess calculated?
Distance between countries is defined as the minimum distance between their land borders along the Earth's surface. Territory (areas that appear in gray when their home country is hit) and water borders are not included in distance calculations.

2. How can I play the game if I am colorblind or visually impaired?
High contrast colorblind mode can be activated in the settings.

3. Are autonomous but not sovereign countries in the game?
Some territories will appear in a neutral color when their sovereign country is hit, eg Greenland for Denmark. The location of these territories does not affect the color of the sovereign country. Most of the small territories do not appear in the game, eg Curacao.

4. I found today's mystery land! When will I be able to play again?
The mysterious land changes and your guesses cancel at midnight in your time zone.

5. Are alternative spellings of countries acceptable?
There are many countries with more than one acceptable name. Some alternative spellings and previous names are accepted, eg Burma for Myanmar. Also, acronyms are acceptable for some multi-word countries, eg UAE for the United Arab Emirates.

6. Why do my friend and I get different mystery lands?
Sometimes game updates don't hit everyone's browsers/devices at the same time. To fix this problem, you can get the latest code by performing a hard refresh (Ctrl + Shift + R on desktop, instructions are different for mobile devices).
