The god of your choice stands atop the temple in the center of the map. Corrupt enemies try to destroy the temple in waves, with each wave you can drive the enemy gates away from the temple, revealing more of the map. Victory is achieved when you destroy all the caves. After successfully defending against several waves, you receive boons that give you new towers, bulk upgrades, and temporary advantages.
