Temples
Each area contains different elemental challenges that you must overcome. Watch out for traps, buttons and levers. Think carefully about your actions and which character you use. Teamwork is key and you can't complete the level without using Fireboy and Watergirl. Unlike the previous games in the series, this game has a mix of 7 different temples, each with 5 or 6 new levels. Temples in the game include 4 previous temples and 3 new temples: fire, water and wind. To gain access to the new temples, you must first complete several levels in the forest temple.
Strategy
The strategy of the game continues the same concepts as in the previous games in the franchise. Fireboy and Watergirl must work together to complete each level. Fireboy must avoid pools of water and Watergirl must avoid pools of lava. Each level is a puzzle of sorts where participants have to figure out the right moves to make in order to complete them. As you complete each level, collect as many diamonds as you can to get a better score. for example, the Fire Temple is unique because it only contains pools of lava that Fireboy can walk around without any problems. Although it seems like an easy temple for Fireboy, quite the opposite. Fireboy has to do all the hard work to get Watergirl to her door. The Water Temple is the same concept as the Fire Temple only with water. On all levels of the water temple, there are only pools of water that Watergirl can walk around freely. That doesn't mean an easy temple for Watergirl. Watergirl must run at least twice as fast as Fireboy to find a safe passage for her red friend.
Time
You only have two minutes to complete each level, so act fast. Don't forget to watch the timer!
2 players
This is cooperative game for two players. This means you can play with a friend. You don't play against each other, but with each other. You can use dual controls to play both at the same time. Of course, you can also play in single player mode and control both characters at the same time.
