The first thing you need to do is be quick and loot! To loot you will need to open the chest around the map. Be sure to use potions and mini potions to complete your shield if you get them. The other thing you need to do is farm materials. Later in the game you will need to build walls to protect yourself from enemies, and for this you will need a lot of materials. The third and last thing is to hunt and kill other players! Only one player can win, so you have to kill and survive to win.
